How to do HTTP Debug on Edge SWG (ProxySG) or Advanced Secure Gateway (ASG)

Resolution

  1. Go to Advanced URL https://X.X.X.X:8082/http/debug

  2. If wanting to filter on a Source IP (will still gather all destination results too), click the link to set the filter. This feature is available starting with SGOS 6.6.x. Refer to "Filter HTTP debug with client IP or server IP", for more details.

  3. Enter the Source IP in Filter, Click "Submit" then "Display syslog and set syslog levels" to get back. Note: In addition, you may want to set a "server_ip" as well if there is a lot of background traffic being generated by that client. Sometimes if there is too much traffic coming through from the client, it can overwrite the issue related debug information.

  4. Set the Debug level for both Local and Display to Debug by Clicking the HTTP link

  5. Set to "Debug" and click "Set Mask" then click "Display syslog and set syslog levels" to get back

  6. Click "Clear Log" link to clear log
  7. Test what is needed along with any other recommend troubleshooting data suggested from your Service Request Engineer
  8. Refresh Page After testing
  9. Copy out all output and save to a Text file to upload to your Service Request number
  10. Set the Debug Back to default clicking the "HTTP" link

  11. Set Back to "ERROR" (Default)
