Software Portal 8.1 RU5 new portal not loading, legacy portal works fine for some users

In the Software Portal for Software Management 8.1 RU5 or 8.1 RU6 the new portal does not load, but the legacy portal works fine.

This is a defect.


This issue is fixed in 8.1 RU7. A point-fix is also available for 8.1 RU5, attached to this KB. Follow these steps to apply the update.

  1. Log onto the Symantec Management Platform (SMP) server with the Application Identity credentials.
  2. Extract the attached archive to a folder on the SMP server that is not within the Altiris install directory.
  3. Launch PFInstaller2.exe and choose to install.
