Exported Event show a different Time Stamp than the Real Time within the United Management Console

Issue/Introduction

Events exported via the Data Center Security United Management Console (DCS UMC) in .xls format show a different Time Stamp than the Real Time within the UMC Console.

Cause

By design, DCS stores reports in UTC time format and the server that the DCS UMC Console is running on translates it to the local time

Resolution

To synchronize times, set the server running the DCS UMC console to UTC as shown below: 

1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Date and Time

2. Under Time Zone > Click on Change Time Zone

3. Set to UTC

Or you can manipulate the data in the report (Add or Subtract the time as per the Real-Time Events Time Stamp) to change it to a different timezone ( Microsoft Excel has this feature)
