Password of ixpAdmin has been misplaced. How can it be recovered or reset?
Release:
Component: iXP
There is a way to reset the ixpAdmin password back to its original install value, which is "ixpAdmin".
Go to directory, %IXP_HOME%\etc\user (Windows) or $IXP_HOME/etc/user (Linux/Unix).
In that directory you will see a file called ixpAdmin.conf. Make a backup copy of this file first.
Open the original file for editing. At the bottom of the file you will see lines that look like the following:
z.20111011185201=XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
z.20120529111618=XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
z.20120529111904=XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
The last lines that start with z. represent present and past passwords for the ixpAdmin user. If you will remove or comment all but the first one in the list, that will reset the password back to "ixpAdmin". You should then be able to login to the Admin Tool as ixpAdmin with that password. The Admin Tool will pop up a dialog and force you to change it again at that point.
