Running database maintenance utility (DBMaint) only on certain days

Issue/Introduction

In Workload Automation AE, there is an option to schedule database maintenance utility (DBMaint) at a certain time every day. How to configure DBMaint utility to run on specific days?

 

Environment

Workload Automation AE 11.3.6, 11.3.5Windows, UNIX, Linux

Resolution

In WAAE Scheduler configuration, database maintenance script (DBMaint) can only be scheduled to run at a certain time every day. To run the database maintenance on a certain day and time, an Autosys job can be created that will run the DBMaint script on a certain day of the month at a certain time: 

 

• Disable automatic running of the DBMaint script by commenting out the "DBMaintTime" parameter in the $AUTOUSER/config.$AUTOSERV file (if Unix/Linux) or blanking out the "Start Time" value in the "Database Maintenance" tab in the WAAE Administrator Scheduler GUI (if Windows). WAAE Scheduler will need to be restarted afterwards for the changes to take effect. 
• Define an Autosys job that will run the DBMaint script on a certain day and time.
