Location of the Qualys Data Import Utility logs

Issue/Introduction

Information Centric Analytics (ICA) can be integrated with Qualys Guard Vulnerability Scanner using ICA's Qualys Data Import Utility. This utility logs information about each data import pull from Qualys, including error messages. Where are the Qualys Data Import Utility log files saved?

Resolution

Logging for the Qualys Data Import Utility is stored on the file system in the following path:

...\Qualys Data Import Utility\logs

The log files use the following naming syntax:

QualysDataImport<yyyyMMdd>.log

The import utility's default installation location is in the same path as ICA's database utilities on the server hosting Microsoft SQL Server. To identify the exact path of the database utilities, follow this procedure:

1. Open SQL Server Management Studio
2. Connect to the Database Engine hosting the RiskFabric database
3. From the menu bar, select File > New > Query with Current Connection
   A new query editor window will open
4. Copy the following query and paste it in the new query editor window:

   SELECT [Value] FROM RiskFabric.dbo.PortalSettings WHERE [Name] = 'DatabaseUtilitiesFolderPath';

5. Execute the query by pressing the F5 key, clicking the Execute button in the SQL Editor toolbar, or selecting Query > Execute from the menu bar
