Issue/Introduction

After logging into the Portal automatically or manually from login page, user will get HTTP 404 error because user is redirected to following address: http://server_name/ProcessManager/Not%20Selected

Cause

User or - more commonly - a group user is a member of has Home Page set to 'Not Selected', causing redirect to a non-existing page.

This issue has recently been occurring with ServiceDesk upgrades from 7.x to 8.1. The cause is not clear but it is possibly caused by the known issue below.

There is a known issue in Workflow and ServiceDesk 7.x and 8.0 where editing a group will save the value 'Not Selected' as Home Page if the respective field is not clicked or filled. Same issue applies to Email Address field.

Resolution

Find user or group with Home Page set to 'Not Selected' and change Home Page to be empty.

The easiest and fastest way to find the affected groups is to run this query against the Workflow/ServiceDesk database (by default named ProcessManager):

SELECT HomePage FROM [Group]
WHERE HomePage = 'Not Selected'

 

Once found, these incorrect Home Page values can be reset by running the following query against the same database:

UPDATE [Group]
SET HomePage = NULL
WHERE HomePage = 'Not Selected'
