Why are incorrect models listed for DASD Vols?
These two PTFs correct the model numbers displayed with the proper device capacity.

Title: INCORRECT 3390 DISK MODELS
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Incorrect models of disk 3390 are displayed in many CA Vantage objects
SYMPTOM:
Without this fix CA Vantage displays the disk models as follows:
3390 disk model number of cylinders
1 <= 1113
2 <= 2226
3 <= 3339
9 <= 10017
27 <= 30051
54 <= 60102
81 > 65520
M27, M54 and M81 are incorrect.
With this fix CA Vantage will display the disk models as follows:
Model Type (D,E,J,K,1,2,3,9,27,54,A)
Since the Emulated devices today can have any number of cylinders,
the value displayed for Model is based upon the number of emulated
cylinders for the device, rather than a specific hardware device attribute.
3390 disk model number of cylinders
1 = 1113
2 = 2226
3 = 3339
9 = 10017
27 = 32760
54 = 65520
A = other capacity
M27/M54 are aligned with IBM documentation as 32760 and 65520 .
The number of cylinders is read from the UCB control block
(UCB DASD CLASS EXTENTION).

Title: MODEL A SPECIFIED IN THE VTOC/VVDS TABLE IS INCORRECT
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
CA Vantage does not accept model type "A" correctly when it reads
the member VPVVDSSX and adds a new volume to storage group.

So, if you have both of these PTFs applied, everything will work properly
for the related device capacities.
