Issue/Introduction

Administrator account was deleted from application permissions page by mistake

Resolution

Steps to recreate an Administrator account within the application:

  1. Open SQL Server Management Studio
  2. Connect to Information Centric Analytics (ICA) database
  3. Open new query
  4. Run one of the following SQL commands (make sure that the ICA database is selected as the active database):

If Default Domain specified in the Portal Settings is not the same as the Active directory domain (replace domain with the correct domain, accountname with AD account that is to be created with Admin privileges within ICA): Exec spCreateAdministrator ‘<domain>\<accountname>’

If Default Domain specified in the Portal Settings is the same as the Active directory domain (replace accountname with AD account that is to be created with Admin privileges within ICA): Exec spCreateAdministrator ‘<accountname>’

CAUTION: These commands assume a basic understanding of SQL. Any changes to the Database pose the potential to affect the operation of the product. ALWAYS ENSURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP OF YOUR DATABASE BEFORE MAKING CHANGES.

In order for Symantec to provide full support of the schema and the DB environment, you have to be running the database in the version specific to the used version as outlined in the System Requirements Guide. Please see the limitations section at http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH220433
