Issue/Introduction

All platform and OS versions are delivered to all computers for plug-in installs, including Software Management Solution Plug-in, Software Update Plug-in, Inventory Plug-in, Application Metering Plug-in.

Cause

During the upgrade or install failures cause this situation to occur.

Environment

ITMS 8.1

Resolution

Starting in 8.1 RU6 this situation will be flagged as a failure when the upgrade or install occurs.

The only way we could correct this was to run a Full Repair. This is done using the following option:

  1. Launch Symantec Installation Manager (SIM).
  2. Click on the option: Repair installed products.
  3. Click on the option: Peform full repair, and click: Next >.
  4. Click Next > to begin the process.
  5. Verify the database information and click Next >.
  6. When complete, the issue should be resolved when clients update their configuration.
