Issue/Introduction

CCS-VM configured to use a remote SQL server for the CCS-VM database

In Event Server logs you will see entries like:  "Database has not been configured correctly.  Allowing service to run, but it won't do anything."

Cause

Event Server service not configured as to SQL server to store job results into.

Environment

CCS-VM 12.x

Resolution

Run the EventServerWindowsServiceConfig.exe utility located at: <drive>:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\CCS-VM Event Server

This utility configures the Event Server to use a particular SQL server to store events in.  You should configure it to target the SymantecCCSVMDatabase (default name) on the remote SQL server that houses the CCS-VM databases.  Use Trusted Connection (Windows Authentication) unless CCS-VM was configured to use an internal only SQL account (such as the "sa" account).
