Issue/Introduction

Using REXX to call the NSIGHTRW batch reporting program 

Is there a way to use REXX to call the NSIGHTRW batch reporting program? 

Environment

z/os DB2

Resolution

The NSIGHTRW program which is the Sysview for DB2 Batch Report Writer program is designed to run in Batch. As such there are no instructions on how to call it via a Rexx program. 

 

Additionally if the Rexx was running in the forground calling a batch designed program like NSIGHTRW could cause considerable overhead.
