Issue/Introduction

Symantec Management Platform (SMP) environment with hierarchy configured and the following error is seen:

A non-fatal exception occured during replication. The replication job will be restarted from the last checkpoint. 
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

Environment

ITMS 8.x

Cause

Child SMP had an incorrectly configured LMHosts file that included an incorrect IP address for the Parent SMP. 

Resolution

Removed the incorrect entry in LMHosts file.
