Searching clients by IP address in the Endpoint Protection Manager returns inaccurate results

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to Endpoint Protection 14.0.1 (RU1), searching for clients by IP address in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) returns more results than expected.  For example, using the following search criteria could produce a list that contains machines outside of the IP address range:

  • IP Address >= 10.1.2.0
  • IP Address <= 10.1.2.254

 

Cause

Issue is caused by the IPv6 support added in RU1 SEPM.
