Issue/Introduction

How do I generate and upload diagnostics files for Symantec support analysis?

Resolution

You can generate and upload diagnostic data from the Web GUI or the CLI:

From the Web GUI (Applies to ALL versions of Reporter 10):

  1. Go to Administration > System Diagnostics> System Overview
  2. In the "SR Number" field enter your Symantec case number.  (Example: 12345678)
  3. Click "Upload"


From the CLI:

Reporter versions 10.1.x to 10.2.x

  1. SSH into Reporter
  2. Enter enable mode
  3. Use the command: service upload-diagnostics <case number>. (Example: 12345678)

Reporter version 10.3.1.x

  1. SSH into Reporter
  2. Enter enable mode
  3. Enter configuration mode
  4. Use the command: diagnostics service-info send <case number> (Example: 12345678)

Reporter version 10.3.2.x and above

  1. SSH into Reporter
  2. Enter enable mode
  3. Enter configuration mode
  4. Use the command: diagnostics service-info send-sr <case number> (Example: 12345678)

 


Note:  Reporter must have access to Blue Coat (bluecoat.com) and Symantec (symantec.com) domains for this direct upload to work.
