Issue/Introduction

There is a requirement to get API documentation for Symantec Management Platform (Altiris Notification Server)

Resolution

ASDK Help file is available in Start Menu for Symantec. The default location for it is "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Symantec\ASDK"
The actual files are located in the program path for the Symantec (Altiris) Management Platform. The default installed location is: C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris ASDK.

The Administrator Software Development Kit (ASDK) contains set of application programming interfaces (APIs) that access the functionality of Notification Server (NS), Task Server and various NS solutions. It can be used to automate or customize the funtionality of NS. Typically, ASDK users write a script, a program, or custom UI that aggregates ASDK functionality to perform desired tasks within NS. Please note that this type of customization is not supported by Symantec Tehnical Support, so adaptations must be made by the user.

In the C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris ASDK directory there are sub folders for HELP (This is where the altiris.chm is), as well as a Samples directory, with example scripts in a variety of languages to help you with your efforts in developing your own integrations and automations.
