PolicyCenter S-Series

Issue/Introduction

Symantec Technical Support has asked for your PolicyCenter S-Series diagnostic files to help troubleshoot a problem.  You can zip up the diag and log folders, download them to your local workstation, and upload them to your support case. 

Resolution

To collect the command data output from your PolicyCenter S-Series:

  1. Open a browser and login to your PolicyCenter S-Series.
  2. Click on the "CLI Commands" link located at the bottom of the PolicyCenter S-Series Web User Interface (WUI) to access the CLI Commands Utility.  See the following link for details on using the CLI Commands Utility:

  3. Enter and run the following commands (one at time) and save the data output of those commands to a file:
    pc setup show
    setup show
    date
    uptime
    ver ver
    banner show
    sys info
    sys health
    sys limits
    sys set -nd
    sys diag

To collect the commands diagnostic/log files from your PolicyCenter S-Series:

  1. Open a browser and login to your PolicyCenter S-Series with touch access.
  2. Click on the "File Browser" link located at the bottom of the PolicyCenter S-Series WUI.
  3. Select the 9.258/diag/ folder. 
  4. Enter a name for the zip file under the Zip file name: section of the page. 
  5. Go to the Action Click on the selected file(s): section of the page and select the "zip" radio and click the "go" button to create the zip file. 
  6. Download the zip file to your workstation.  
    Note: You can right click on the zip file name and select save target as in IE or Save link as in Firefox and Chrome. 
  7. Select and zip the 9.256/log folder as described in steps 4 and 5.
  8. Download the zip file as described in step 6. 
  9. Select and zip the 9.256/cmd as described in steps 4 and 5.
  10. Download the zip file as described in step 6.
