You want to know if the Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition (SEP SBE) agent has the latest definitions.
You can see more granular information regarding definitions in the following locations:
Browse to C:\Program Files\Symantec.cloud\EndpointProtectionAgent\NortonData\<version>\Definitions. Each subfolder represents a definition type.
Browse this folder to see the revision that's present. The revisions are displayed as yyyymmdd.rev. For example 20171116.001 would be 17 November 2017 revision 1.
Note: If there is a VirusDefs folder present, this is no longer in use; the SDSDefs folder has replaced it.
You can compare the information in SEP SBE with the latest definitions at Symantec Security Response.
The filename for the update to Norton Internet Secuity 22.9, 22.10 and later shows the latest published revision. The name should be like yyyymmdd-rev-core3sdsg2v5i32.exe (or ending in i64 for 64-bit systems).
For example 20171116-001-core3sdsg2v5i64.exe would indicate 16 November 2017 revision 1 is available for 64-bit SEP SBE cloud clients.
You can also check the Symantec FTP site:
Similar to the Symantec website, this site will have files for the latest content. The last 8 revisions are listed, so be sure to find the newest revision listed in the folder. The naming should match that of the website.
Note: The files on the Symantec website or FTP site may be downloaded and used as a means of a manual definitions update. If the wrong file is selected, the Intelligent Updater executable will report a failure to update.
