Issue/Introduction

During the upgrade process of Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM), the Management Upgrade Wizard has a screen prompting for Client Port Communications.

This screen is misleading and suggest that port will be changed to HTTPS/443.  It is a concern if the previous version was configured for HTTP only.

HTTPS is enabled by default on a new install but will respect current configuration if it is an upgrade.

Cause

The upgrade wizard proactively seeks the HTTPS port for reference if this is desired to be enabled in future.

Resolution

Product is working as designed, if the mouse hovers over the 'information bubble' a message will appear.

"Clients continue to use HTTP after the upgrade.  This option sets a default HTTPS port in case you choose to use HTTPS communications in the future"
