Configuring NTP Servers On ProxySG

Issue/Introduction

Customer wants to configure ProxySG to use NTP servers (Internal or External) other than the default ones ntp.bluecoat.com and ntp2.bluecoat.com.

NTP servers are used by ProxySG as a reference point to get accurate time. The time sync is performed at a regular interval to keep the skew minimized.

Resolution

To configure NTP servers, follow the steps below:

1. Login to Web Management Console of ProxySG.
2. Navigate to Configuration > General > Clock > NTP tab
3. Click on "New" and enter an IP Address or FQDN of an NTP server
4. Click "OK" to add the entry to the NTP servers list.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to add more servers.

6. NTP servers are accessed in the order displayed. You can organize the list of servers by using "Promote entry" or "Demote entry" as appropriate.
7. Click "Apply" to save the changes.
