Is it possible to convert Unified Agent (UA) without uninstalling the application and then reinstalling by editing the registry keys?
You would like to convert Unified Agent OnPrem Proxy to Web Security Service (WSS) Unified Agent (UA) with several hundred Windows machines using the following string:
Msiexec /i UnifiedAgentLEInstaller64-WIN-126.96.36.199333.msi /qn CM_URL=https://proxyclientpoc.Company.com:8084/unifiedagent/UnifiedAgentConfig.xml REBOOT=ReallySuppress /l*V "C:\tagfiles\UnifiedAgentforWin7_x64_4.8.0_Install.log"
There is no way to edit the Unified Agent registry in order to update from OnPrem to Web Security Service (WSS) Unified Agent (UA).
Although the MSI executable files are named the same, they are very different agents.
In order to upgrade from UA-OnPrem to Web Security Service UA is required to:
Uninstall the UA-OnPrem
Install the WSS UA
Reboot to be functional
