Connection Classification effectiveness issues

Messaging Gateway

Connection Classification provides a local, adaptive IP reputation score for all inbound SMTP connections to Messaging Gateway (SMG). Prior to SMG 10.6.3, Connection Classification has not been as effective as expected with some spam sources being assigned more permissive connection classes than would be expected from their email traffic.

An error in the underlying calculation of spam message frequency resulted in SMG Connection Classification being more permissive than expected.

This issue has been resolved with the SMG 10.6.4 release.
