If a previous version of Symantec Endpoint Encryption was installed to a custom location (the D: drive for example), after upgrading the Endpoint Encryption Management Console it will be installed in the default "C:\Program Files\Symantec\" location instead of that previously configured custom location. There is also no option to change this location during the upgrade.
This issue applies to Endpoint Encryption versions 11.1.1 and above, due to the introduction of the unified single MSI installer.

The following is a known temporary workaround, allowing the upgraded version to be installed to a custom location:
1. Uninstall the previous version of Endpoint Encryption Server Suite, leaving the database intact.
2. Install the new version of Endpoint Encryption as a new install and connect to the existing database.
