Messaging Gateway hardware appliance is processing messages more slowly than expected and may show higher than expected cpu utilization. No errors indicating any software errors appear in the logs but the system may not be able to keep up with expected mail traffic volumes.
Other operations like system backups may also take significantly longer than expected.
Hardware diagnostics via SNMP and DSET similarly show no problems with the system hardware.
The Dell hardware Power Cap Policy feature is enabled. This causes the SMG appliange to limit its power usage and so may not draw enough power to fully utilize cpu resources when under load.
