After disabling the Network Proxy option within Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), the error "Unsupported Proxy Configuration" persists.

Unsupported Proxy Configuration

Proxy configuration alerts can not be cleared while the proxy configuration is disabled.

Symantec is aware of this issue and is working towards a permanent fix.

There is a workaround to this issue and the steps are listed below.

  1. Whitelist ATP's IP address on the intercepting proxy
  2. Enable the network proxy in ATP configuration
  3. Once the error is cleared either
    1. Leave ATP whitelisted
    2. Disable the proxy configuration (in ATP) again
