Issue/Introduction

Installing IMS-Tools R19 using CSM

In the past we installed only CA Database Organizer(IMS Tools), and got all necessary FMIDs.

Download Center and CA Chorus shows we are authorized for: CA Database Analyzer for IMS for z/OS MVS, CA Database Copier for IMS for z/OS MVS, CA Database Organizer for IMS for z/OS MVS, and CA Secondary Index Builder for IMS for z/OS MVS.

Can I do the same if I am installing with CSM?

Resolution

I have performed a Custom Installation versus a Full Installation. For the Custom Installation, I selected just DBO and selected 4 FMIDs;

CITKJ00 /*IMS Toolkit Common Component

CITSJ00 /*IMS Toolkit Started Task Component

CIDOJ00 /*CA Database Organizer

CTGRJ00 /*CA Snapshot General Services For DB2

For the Full Installation we would see all FMIDs selected;

CITKJ00 /*IMS Toolkit Common Component

CASTJ00 /*CA Compress Data Compression for IMS

CCHAJ00 /*IMS Change Accumulation

CITSJ00 /*IMS Toolkit Started Task Component

CIXEJ00 /*CA Secondary Index

CICPJ00 /*CA Database Copier

CIDAJ00 /*CA Database Analyzer

CIDOJ00 /*CA Database Organizer

CEW2J00 /*CA Mainframe Program Restart Manager

CEW5J00 /*CA Mainframe Extended Terminal Manager

CEW6J00 /*CA Mainframe Configuration Manager

CIXBJ00 /*CA Secondary Index Builder

CHPRJ00 /*CA High Performance Recovery

CTGRJ00 /*CA Snapshot General Services For DB2

Given that the customer uses DBO, DBA, DBCOPY and SIB, I would recommend that they do a Full Installation, so that all of the CA IMS Tools are installed. Licensing will control which products they are then able to use.

Additional Information

IN CSM, they should scroll down to one of their IMS Tools listed under Available Products, for example CA Database Analyzer for IMS for z/OS - MVS.
Click on the r19 base installation icon (0000).

Then in the listed Base Installation Packages, scroll down to IMS TOOLS MEDIA 19.0 0000 and select Action – Install.

In the installation process, they should choose Full Installation.
