Issue/Introduction

The Data Center Security Secure Virtual Appliance fails to contact Liveupdate to download definitions.

Cause

Liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com is unable to be reached by the SVA over the proper ports.

Resolution

To allow for Liveupdate definitions to be downloaded directly to the SVA, the following must be in place:

1. The SVA must be able to reach the internet.

2. Port 80 must be open for the SVA to contact and download updates from Liveupdate.

3. DNS must be configured for the SVA's IP pool to allow for resolution of Liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com
