Encounter the Error "Database Population FAILED", during the SCSP/DCS:SA management server installation progress.

Issue/Introduction

When you installed the SCSP/DCS:SA management server, the error message "Database Population FAILED" would appear.

The whole installation progress would be broken.

 

When you installed the SCSP/DCS:SA management server, the error message "Database Population FAILED" would appear. ​

And you would find "java.sql.SQLException: Could not find a Java charset equivalent to collation 040CD01000." record in the install log.

Windows Server 2008 R2

DCS:SA 6.5 MP1

SCSP 5.2.9

 

Cause

It is charset issue, the special SQL Server charset setting or OS charset setting ​is unsupported, for example "Chinese(Traditional, Hong Kong S.A.R)".

Resolution

Change SQL Server charset setting or OS charset setting ​from unsupported type [For example, Chinese(Traditional, Hong Kong S.A.R)] to supported type [For example, English(United States) ], and reboot the OS.
