Issue/Introduction

Unable to download VIP Access Desktop installer from vip.symantec.com when using Windows 10 RS2 (Version 1703).

 

Environment

Windows 10 Creators Update Version 1703

Cause

This issue happens only when Windows Defender SmartScreen filter is turned on.

Resolution

Turning off Windows Defender SmartScreen filter is a workaround on this.

Another workaround is to select "save target as" option in the download from the context menu and save it to a specific location then run it from that location.
