Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) firewall sometimes does not allow traffic based on application name. For example, an "Allow" rule for application xyz.exe does not work, and if traffic logging is enabled for the blocking rule(s), the blocked application name will be logged using a string of unrecognizable characters.
Firewall blocks and logs application name with a string of garbage or gibberish characters.
