Add/update licenses window is not opening in Symantec Installation Manager (SIM) to install the licenses.

SimApplicationContext failed to initialize. Product listing failed to load

Cause

A temporary copy of symantec_v2.pl.xml.zip was also present in "\Program Files\Altiris\Symantec Installation Manager\Installs\Altiris" folder.

Environment

SIM 7.5, 7.5 SP1, 7.6, 8.0 and 8.1.

Resolution

  1. Remove symantec_v2.pl.xml.zip_tmp file from "\Program Files\Altiris\Symantec Installation Manager\Installs\Altiris" folder and ensure to use only one symantec_v2.pl.xml.zip file.
  2. Re-launch SIM and the Add/update licenses window will open up.
