Error: "An add-on for this website failed to run."

Issue/Introduction

When trying to open the Symantec Management Platform (SMP) Console on the Notification Server a blank page opens and a notification window appears stating:

"An add-on for this website failed to run."

Opening the SMP Console from another machine via a remote connection works fine.

Environment

ITMS 8.x

Cause

This was found to be cause by Internet Explorer Settings for ActiveX and javascripting not being enabled.

Resolution

Enable ActiveX and javascripting under the Internet Settings > Security Tab
