Error: "Web exception occured during Server certificate request: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send" when adding SMP Server to the Internet Gateway

Issue/Introduction

Trying to add the SMP Server to the CEM Internet Gateway generates the following error:

Web exception occured during Server certificate request: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.

Site servers could be added to the Internet Gateway with no issues. and it is only the SMP server generates the error.   Wireshark traces showed the firewall would reset the connection.

Environment

ITMS 8.x

Cause

The firewall rule had a bad IP Address for the SMP server.   

Resolution

Changing the firewall rule to include the correct IP Address resolved the issue.
