Masking is producing many state values to show up as AR

Issue/Introduction

This question pertains to our internal seed lists that are part of the Scramble database.  If you are using your own custom seed lists for masking,  this document will not apply.

I added a connection to the LOV1 table and selected the 'US State Zip City' seed list using the HASHLOV function.

I set State to column 1, Zip to column 2 and City to column 3.

All states get masked to 'AR' regardless of what the source state is.

Resolution

The 'US STATE ZIP CITY COUNTRY' list does not have a good spread of data.  The state of Arkansas (AK) is actually used in more than 60% of all entries in this list.  If you need to use a wider spread of data for the United States,  please use the 'US ADDRESSES' list.
