My client has not completed the upgrade on its own

A Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition cloud (SEP SBE) agent shows Agent Upgrade pending in the portal but after multiple restarts the client does not update locally.


To manually upgrade your client you can do one of the following:

  • Download and run a fresh installer using the Install Now option on the machine, it will update the client to the latest version


  1. Create a new redistributable package
  2. Open an Administrative Command Prompt
  3. Navigate to the location you saved the redistributable package
  4. Run the following command: SymRedistributable.exe -silent -refreshall

If the agent still fails to upgrade uninstall and reinstall the agent using the removal tools to ensure you remove any corrupted remnants.
