Issue/Introduction

Citrix XenDesktop deployed with the Endpoint Agent pre-installed, hangs on start-up.

Resolution

Steps to allow Citrix Desktop images to start up and successfully connect to Symantec DLP 14.x

  1. Install an Endpoint Detection server that will be used only for the Citrix agents
  2. In Enforce create a new agent config for only Citrix Desktop agents
  3. In the Agent configuration go to the Agent Monitoring tab and check these boxes:
    • Removable_Media
    • HTTP, HTTPS, IE and any other browser.
  4. Under the Agent configuration go to Advanced Agent Settings and change this value

FileSystem.IGNORE_STORAGE_BUS_TYPE.str = NONE

to

FileSystem.IGNORE_STORAGE_BUS_TYPE.str = All

  1. Save the configuration
  2. Create a new agent package for the Citrix images and select just the Endpoint Detection server dedicated to the Citrix agents.  (Agents can be moved after installation if necessary).  Finally install the agent into the Citrix image.
