Backing up Capacity Command Center for Restore

What should be backed up a restore if needed on Capacity Command Center / Data Manager

Environment

Windows

Resolution

Backup Oracle Database

For the Oracle Database server, we recommend a normal server backup which allows restoration for any point of time over the last 7 days. The restoration should provide the ability to retain the parameter files, settings and raw data. Having additional redundancy backup with datapump scripts could be an extra source of backup for raw data retention.

Backup CCC/VPM + DM Application Server

A normal VM snapshot of the entire server is sufficient as a backup solution. A snapshot should be able to restore the application parameter files, application settings as well as application files from its directories.

Backup CCR Application Server

A normal VM snapshot of the entire server is sufficient as a backup solution. Within the CCR server, there are specific Report files that need to be backed up, mainly if there are custom reports present:

CCR parameter files & settings (e.g., *.XML and *.SQL):

ApplicationDrive\NETQOS\mysql51\data\netqosportal\* (backup for the CCR internal MySQL database)

ApplicationDrive\NETQOS\portal\Integration\DataManager\* (this is where we find the .XML and .SQL files)
