The output of the debug switch command might look similar to this:

> debug switch
NMSB status for NMSB 2.2.0 build 849.2.2.8 is:
NMSB card detect sees 0 cards on the USB bus.
Is an NMSB card installed?
Are both the power and USB cables connected?
NMSB ethernet over USB interface not passing traffic.
Error with scmd_open No IP address for open.
Error with psls_open No IP address for open.
Error with ftwo_open No IP address for open.

In contrast to output from a healthy SV3800:

> debug switch

NMSB(Network Module Switch Board) is a layer 2/3 ethernet switch. It performs flow based load-balancing (based on srcIP/dstIP/protocol) so that all packets on a given flow always go the same NFE(Netronome Flow Engine) card over the same 10G ethernet link. There are two 10G links to each NFE. NMSB also provides midplane connectivity among Netmod(s) and NFE card(s).

NMSB is present only in SV2800 and SV3800 devices (and their variants). SV800 and SV1800 have no NMSB.

Cause

The error symptoms indicate communication issues with NMSB card and may indicate a potential hardware level fault.

Resolution
