Appliance hangs at "Scanning for devices" during an upgrade of Security Analytics

After initiating an upgrade of Security Analytics, during the boot process, the screen will display "Scanning for devices. Please wait, this may take several minutes" and not continue.
The resolution is to either burn the Security Analytics ISO to a DVD and boot from it, boot from an ISO mounted on Virtual Media from the iDRAC, or boot from a bootable USB. After booting from the ISO image, you will be prompted to Install or Upgrade. Select Upgrade and data will be preserved. The upgrade should proceed.
