Issue/Introduction

Issue appears as though the ProxySG is waiting on something.

Packet capture does not show the ProxySG doing anything. It is not waiting on DNS response. It is not sending out the request to upstream. There is no authentication or ICAP scanning.

Cause

Found this in the event log:

2016-04-14 09:20:27-00:00UTC "Bridge loop detected for src MAC 00:1C:7F:61:01:A9, dst MAC 00:D0:83:09:90:B5, on bridge passthru-2" 0 30201:7D event_logger.cpp:31
2016-04-14 09:20:27-00:00UTC "Muting interface 2:0" 0 30201:7D event_logger.cpp:31
2016-04-14 09:20:27-00:00UTC "Muting interface 2:1" 0 30201:7D event_logger.cpp:31
2016-04-14 09:21:07-00:00UTC "Bridge loop detected for src MAC 00:1C:7F:61:01:A9, dst MAC 00:D0:83:09:90:B5, on bridge passthru-2" 0 30201:7D event_logger.cpp:31
2016-04-14 09:21:07-00:00UTC "Muting interface 2:0" 0 30201:7D event_logger.cpp:31
2016-04-14 09:21:07-00:00UTC "Muting interface 2:1" 0 30201:7D event_logger.cpp:31

Both 2:0 and 2:1 proxy interfaces are connected to the same firewall. This is causing bridge loops.

Resolution

Enable Spanning Tree on the interfaces.

Or disable the bridge, if they are being used as individual interfaces.
