How to recover PacketShaper

Some times PacketShaper will get in to a state whereby it can't boot a PacketWise image
The cause of this is usually a corrupted Flash drive which holds the boot image, license and branding information.
If your PacketShaper won’t load its configuration or you are not able to login after it boots up you can try and recover the device by following these steps in the order shown below.
- Boot up the PacketShaper and enter Ctrl+Y at the Loading prompt to enter the Boot Menu.
- At the Boot Menu choose option J and then option C to mount the hard drive for maintenance. The PacketShaper will reboot.
- When the PacketShaper comes back up choose option H to erase and reload the hard drive. The PacketShaper will reboot.
- When the device comes back up choose option J and then option B to mount the Flash drive for maintenance. The PacketShaper will reboot.
- When the PacketShaper comes back up choose option G erase and reload the compact flash drive. The PacketShaper will reboot.
- Once the PacketShaper comes back up choose option J and option A to restart the PacketShaper and allow it to boot normally and you should now be able to login to the PacketShaper.
- If after all this you can still not access the PacketShaper please call in to Broadcom Technical Support
