Issue/Introduction

PASSCHAR is defined with the hyphen and another character. When using the TSO TSS UNLOCK command and the user supplied password begins or ends with the hyphen, nothing happens. Why doesn't TSS UNLOCK work with a hyphen character?

Resolution

This is a TSO limitation. The hyphen "-" character is expected to be a continuation character in a TSO environment and cannot be use as a header or trailer character in the password field.
