How to re-generate Reporter v9 Default Certificate

Article ID: 168957

Updated On:

A corrupted default certificate on Reporter prevents access to the Management Console through an HTTPS connection. Re-generate a new default certificate in Reporter to resolve this issue.

To re-create the default certificate, perform the following:

1. Stop the Reporter service.
2. On the server, go to the ssl directory: C:\Program Files\Blue Coat Reporter 9\utilities\ssl
3. Delete default.cert and default.key.
4. Start the Reporter service.

Because Reporter is set to use the default certificate and key, the startup process runs a built-in keygen to recreate the needed certificate and key files.
