Is there an alert notification if the power supply is faulty on CA appliances?

Issue/Introduction

Content Analysis releases prior to version 3.1.4.0 cannot send an alert notification if the power supply is faulty. When a power supply suffers from a fault, you will not see the PSU listed in Power Supplies under the Utilities > Onboard Diagnostics page. 

 

 

Resolution

Starting in version 3.1.4.0, you can configure alert notifications for hardware failures, including a faulty power supply:

 

• In the web console, select Settings > Alert Locations, enable notifications for the Hardware sensor detected a problem event. Refer to Set Up Alert Delivery Methods.
• In the CLI, use the command (config)# alerts destinations <notification_type> HARDWARE_FAILURE. Refer to (config)# alerts destinations.
