ProxySG Software - SGOS

Issue/Introduction

Users experience issues with Google Chrome Remote Desktop traffic through the ProxySG appliance.

Chrome Remote Desktop is a remote desktop software tool that allows a user to remotely control another computer using the Chromoting protocol. Both the Chrome Remote Desktop tool and the Chromoting protocol are developed by Google.

Resolution

Install the following policy on the ProxySG appliance:

define condition HTTPPost
http.method=(POST)
end condition HTTPPost

define condition chromelogin
url.domain=accounts.google.com
url.domain=www.googleapis.com
end

<Proxy>
condition=chromelogin condition=HTTPPost Authenticate(no)
url.domain=chromoting-client.talkgadget.google.com Authenticate(no)

<Proxy>
ALLOW url.regex="ssl://"

Then, configure the firewall to allow access to the UDP port (which the appliance does not intercept):

chromoting-client.talkgadget.google.com
kul06s11-in-f10.1e100.net
kul06s06-in-f16.1e100.net
sa-in-f127.1e100.net

Note: The preceding is a sample URL only; you can find out from the Google Chrome Remote Desktop team if other URLs/FQDN should be allowed from the firewall for UDP access.
