Issue/Introduction

The ProxySG appliance event log shows "Policy: Action discarded, 'rename_generic_cdn' conflicts with an action already committed" 0 3B000E:1 pe_policy_ticket.cpp:716

Cause

This conflict usually occurs because local policy contains a rewrite for a site that is also being optimized in CachePulse. Look for any rewrite policy on the appliance, for example:

<Proxy>
url.domain=//akamaihd.net/ action.RewriteAkamaiHD(yes)

define action RewriteAkamaiHD
 rewrite(url.host, ".*", "bluecoat-cache.akamaihd.net", cache)
end

The previous policy rewrites the URL of the object in cache so that if the server host changes, multiple clients are still able to retrieve the object from cache.

You can check which site is CachePulse-enabled using the following site:

https://cachereview.bluecoat.com/cachereview.jsp

For this example, check the site akamaihd.net.

Resolution

For this example, akamaihd.net is already optimized in CachePulse. Thus, you can remove the previous CPL from policy.
