Issue/Introduction
With APM-Resource-Protection configured and enabled and when more than 93 "detected hosts" are identified, there will be loss of dataplane heartbeats between the NPMs and APMs.
This issue is addressed in XOS 10.0.3 and XOS 11.0.0.
Cause
There is a software anomaly within the APM-Resource-Protection functionality of the Enhanced Resource Protection feature which writes past the end of a programmed buffer when there are more than 93 "detected hosts" resulting in the impact of heartbeat/health check mechanisms between the APM and NPM modules.
Resolution
Upgrade to a version of XOS containing the fix. The fix was submitted to XOS 10.0.3 and XOS 11.0.0. This software anomaly is not present in the XOS 9.7.x branch.
Workaround
Disable APM-Resource-Protection until the system is upgraded to a version containing the fix.
