Prerequisites
You can install NNP and ICSP Network Appliance with either the USB image or the CD image.
Note: If you are upgrading your ICSP system and have already rolled out the Agent component make sure that you have a copy of the key file.
You can export it through the ICSP user interface in USB > Import/export key file. You will need to import it again after reinstalling ICSP
or your agents will reject all scanned media.
1. Installing using the usb image :
You will need a bootable USB thumb drive at least 2 GB or larger in size, a keyboard, a monitor, and the USB image provided by Blue Coat
1.1 Flashing the USB storage device with the ICSP-USB image
1.2 Booting from USB device
Power off the NNP or ICSP appliance. Plug in the USB thumb drive in one of the available USB ports. Plug in the Keyboard and monitor. Now power on the appliance and keep pressing the F11 key on the keyboard until you are presented with the Boot Manager menu. Then select the USB drive from the available boot devices.
2. Installing using the CD ISO image
2.1 Burning the ISO image to a CD-R
Use any CD burning software that supports writing ISO image files.
When burning completes make sure the CD burning software unpacked the content of the ISO and did not just burn the image as a single file to the CD-R
2.2 Booting the NNP/ICSP Network Appliance from CD
While booting the appliance hold the F11 for the Boot menu.
Once the Boot Menu Manager loads, select the optical drive and continue.
3. Installation
During configuration you will encounter predefined default settings. Blue Coat recommends using these settings. Use the cursor block to navigate menus and TAB to jump to the field and ALT+TAB to jump back. If you are finished with a configuration Screen Click Next.
3.1 NNP First Time Installation
When booting is finished you will see a prompt with a blinking cursor.
Press “Enter” to start the installation. It will take several minutes until the Setup wizard starts.
3.1a Keep Logfiles and Configuration on reinstallation
This screen will show if you are installing over a previous installation.
You will need a USB hard drive or thumb drive.
Select the option you want, Connect the USB storage device and select it from the dropdown menu.
Note!: This Storage Device will be completely erased.
Click OK.
3.2 Keyboard Layout
Select your keyboard language.
3.3 License Key
Enter your License Key including dashes. Once your license key is complete and correct the red
Invalid License indicator will change to a green
Valid License.
3.4 Timezone
Choose your location and timezone.
3.5 Root Password
Enter your root password. This password will be used for the root account of the underlying Ubuntu Linux operating system, and you will also use it with your admin user to log on to the web configuration user interface (UI).
3.6 Link-speed and duplex settings
Select the MODE
Admin for the first interface. This will be the interface used to access the Web configuration UI and the one the Scanner Station will access Blue Coats Update Servers from.
From the NIC CONFIG menu pick
Auto. Do not change the MTU value unless Blue Coat support recommends otherwise.
You will also need to Select 2 interfaces for "Bridge" as these are the scanning interfaces, you can switch to Monitor after the installation from the User Interface. Please refer to the administrator guide for details.
Blue Coat recommends to use fixed duplex settings for the Bridge interfaces and their corresponding switch ports to avoid problems with degraded performance due to auto-negitiation errors.
3.7 Admin Interface Setup
Enter IP address,
Netmask,
Gateway and at least one
DNS server. Enter a host name and a domain name suffix. These settings can later be changed in the web configuration UI.
3.8 Creating and formatting partitions
This process will take several minutes depending on the size and speed of the HDD
3.9 Installation and configuration complete
Click
Reboot to finish the installation process.
