You receive an error when trying to update the Director license:
Error occurred at local time: Wed Nov 05 10:34:04 EST 2014 Error Details: License installation failed: Updating the License information to database failed. Expiration date may be invalid. Generate a new license file at the Blue Coat Licensing Portal, and try again. If you need assistance, contact Blue Coat Support.
Resolution
To resolve the issue:
Ensure the appliance has the correct time by running the following command via CLI: Director# show clock
