Install the ProxySG appliance license via CLI

Issue/Introduction

Depending on your environment, or if you cannot access the Management Console, you might be required to load the license via the command line interface (CLI). You can use the commands in this article to achieve this task.

 

Resolution

Using SSH connect to ( Proxy IP address)  tcp port 22 and enter the following commands:

Enable Password:>en

 

Proxy#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line.  End with CTRL-Z.
Proxy#(config)license-key path http://web_server/license_serial_number.bcl
  ok
Proxy#(config)

where:

• web_server is either an IP address of a web server or hostname
• license_serial_number.bcl represents the actual license key downloaded or provided by Customer Care

Workaround

CLI commands can be used to load the license key using a local webeserver
